CUSTOM TUNED // Unlike your average lift, Carli Suspension uses only custom tuned shocks. Each shock package goes through months of testing, development, tuning, and valving. The Back Country system is tuned to be an all around set up bridging the gap between the Commuter and King shock systems. Have a truck that does 90% street duty with a little off road mixed in? This is the system for you.
CONTROL ARMS // Hand fabricated and welded in California with the highest quality joints for improved flex, these arms are a high strength control arm replacement. To run 37’s, you will need the high clearance fabricated arms that have a notch for tire clearance.
SWAY BAR UPGRADE // Eliminates the harshness caused by the stiff factory sway bar, letting your suspension do its job and move independently. This is one of the single biggest improvements you can make to your truck’s ride. To keep the factory ride, select the end link option. (TSB is for 03+ only)
LEAF PACK OPTIONS // Balancing ride and capability, the add a pack retains factory payload but improves small bump compliance by increasing the leaf count and reducing leaf thickness in half the pack. With the full leaf pack, a 15% payload reduction gets the best possible ride quality from the rear of the truck. Small chatter or large hit, this leaf pack will swallow it whole. The HD pack is ONLY for chase trucks or trucks with over 2,000lbs in bed at all times.

Carli's Backcountry 2.0 system is designed for people seeking the best ride on and off-road on a budget. The Back Country is made for anyone that wants to have a little dirt-road fun in their 8,500lb truck without losing the on-road ride quality or function.  Utilizing custom Carli SPEC 2.0 Remote Reservoir Shocks, Carli has developed a shock tune that delivers all around comfort and ride quality designed for on-road, in town, highway, towing/hauling as well as slow to mid speed off road use. The Carli SPEC 2.0s are aluminum shocks that will stand the test of time, even when exposed to the elements. They’re constructed with bushings in the rod ends for long-lasting, maintenance free performance. This system rides best with the full progressive leaf springs and 17” or 18” wheels on, 35” Toyo M/T at 40F/35R. Both of the aforementioned are strongly suggested. We also recommend the purchase of a set of extended control arms to shift the axle forward to its new center of travel. High clearance arms are required to clear a 37” tire. 

**2010-present vehicles have 2 possible sizes of Sway Bar End Links. Place a socket on the nut that compresses the rubber End Link bushings; fitment of an 18mm socket will indicate the need for the 12mm part number.

This system fits Dodge Ram 2500 and Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 trucks from 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.

WHEEL/TIRE FITMENT

This system will fit up to a 35” tire with stock control arms on 17”-18” wheels with 5.75-6” of backspacing (including factory or near factory spec. wheels). We recommend running a wheel no more than 9” with 5.75” of backspacing with High Clearance Control arms and Full Replacement Leaf Springs to allow 37” tire fitment.

Best of the best

CJC service is second to non and the hype is real. Had a small issue with the mopar supplied part and CJC took care of it without me even asking. Top notch service guys. As far as Carli goes spring and shock install easy. Torsion swaybar fit inside bushings was extremely tight and arms connecting to bar painted making it impossible to mount without spreading a bit. Rides way better than stock and quality is top notch.

3rd Gen Fun

My truck: ‘05 Ram with 2” spacers and Rancho RS 9000 shocks, stock springs fr/rr with 33” tires. This kit took about 6hrs to install myself in my driveway and wasn’t that bad, but a second pair of hands are always helpful. My stock track bar had about 30K on it so I replaced it first and drove the truck - noticeable difference! After the installation, the on-road ride was actually about the same with the exception of square-edged bump’s (potholes) being soaked up without upsetting the truck. The off-road ride (which is what you buy this kit for right?!) was much better allowing me to lead a group of “razors” down a trail without them getting upset, but it was still a stiff ride. I waited to write this review until I could get the rear springs installed and drive down the same trails. The rear full-progressive springs make “all” the difference! With just the front suspension, it soaked up the big bumps that you would normally “tighten your cheeks” for, but washboard and sand made the rear end hop around just the same. With the rear springs installed, the rear end stayed planted and eliminated most of the hop and chatter which allowed me to drive 2 to 3 times as fast down the same road. The suspension flex from the front end is minimal while the flex from the rear is substantial which provides a much better on and off-road ride. While I haven’t done the control arms yet, I don’t think they will change the ride much. Overall, while I wish the front springs were softer for the backcountry system, the suspension is a “system” that you don’t get the full benefits of until you install the whole thing.

06 Dodge Backcountry lift

The Backcountry lift from CJC is a great mid priced option for the 3rd generation ram truck. I opted for the full progressive leaf spring pack, the high clearance control arms and the torsion sway bar. The improvement in ride quality is incredible. The quality of all the products was top notch. The billet control arms are a work of art! Super pleased with the communication and prompt shipment from CJC.
