Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid

The plastic evaporative canister located under the Jeep JK's floorboard is an important part of the Jeep's emissions and engine management system. Unfortunately, Jeep placed this unit in a vulnerable spot where it can be damaged or torn off by rocks and other trail obstacles. Poison Spyder's JK Evap Skid solves this issue by protecting the canister with a rugged skid plate. The design of the Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid has been updated to fit all year models and configurations of Jeep Wrangler JK's, from 2007 to present, both 2-door and 4-door.
The Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid is CNC laser cut and brake-formed from 3/16" plate steel. It completely envelopes the evap canister to protect it from the bottom, front, sides and rear. The front surface of the skid is slanted like a ramp to help slide the Jeep up and over any obstacles that might reach up that far into the Jeep's undercarriage. And of course the skid features the familiar laser cut Spyder symbol.

The unique installation method involves removing the stock mounting bracket and securing the canister into the Evap Skid using the provided components and hardware. This provides the added benefit of lifting the canister enough to gain an extra 3/4" of ground clearance—including the thickness of the skid itself! The JK Evap Skid comes powder coated satin black, and comes with two complete hardware kits for either 2007-2011 or 2012+ installation, and install instructions.

There are several products on the market that deal with the evap canister's vulnerability in different ways. Kits that relocate the canister may result in engine codes that are difficult to diagnose, or may even void your factory warranty. Other skid plate products may protect the bottom of the canister but leave the sides and front vulnerable. Only the Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid keeps the canister in its factory location, with original electrical and vapor connections intact, while fully protecting it from all sides.

Poison Spyder JK BFH Disco Skid '07-'11 Poison Spyder JK BFH Disco Skid '07-'11

The JK BFH Disco Skid is an optional bolt-on skid plate to protect the factory electric swaybar disconnect motor on JK's. In stock form this motor hangs low, making it vulnerable to rocks and trail hazards. The BFH Disco Skid protects it, but also comes with hardware and instructions to rotate the motor upward, further out of harm's way. Like the BFH bumper, the Disco Skid is made of CNC laser-cut 3/16" plate steel and is designed to be a great looking, functional addition to the JK BFH bumper. This product ships as bare steel—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item.
If you own a 2012 and newer JK Rubicon and are considering installing this product on it, here is a brief explanation of the compatibility issue. Installing the BFH Disco Skid requires a procedure to rotate the electric sway bar disconnect mechanism so that it tucks up higher underneath the Jeep and clears the skid, which is designed for maximum ground clearance. Beginning with the 2012 model year, Jeep changed to a different design for the electric sway bar disconnect mechanism on the JK Rubicon. On these 2012 and newer Rubiocns, the sway bar mechanism rotation procedure may leave a small part of the mechanism housing in slight contact with the bottom edge of the air conditioning condenser unit. It may also slightly contact the skid itself. This can result in damage to the condenser. Those who still want to install the Disco Skid on their 2012 and newer Rubicon may do so at their own risk, though they may minimize that risk by grinding away material from the mechanism housing where it would rub the condenser. Poison Spyder provides no instructions for doing this, however, and makes no warranty for the product or damage caused by installing it on 2012 and newer JK Rubicons.

NOTE: The JK BFH Disco Skid works only in conjunction with the JK BFH Front Bumper. It is not designed to work with the stock or other aftermarket bumpers.

Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Body Armor (Steel) Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Body Armor (Steel)

Poison Spyder JK Body Armor is recommended equipment for any JK venturing into off road situations where body damage is eminent. JK Body Armor protects the thin factory sheetmetal with rugged, precision-fit 3/16" plate steel or aluminum. Used by itself, JK Body Armor hugs the Jeep's body contours to provide protection with no loss of ground clearance. Used with the factory Rubicon rocker rails, the JK Body Armor helps prevent trail damage that can be caused by rocks pushing the factory rocker rails up into the body. And used with Poison Spyder's JK Rocker Knockers™, the JK Body Armor provides one more line of defense for your JK, in the most complete, strongest, best looking package of rocker panel protection gear available for the JK.
JK Body Armor is manufactured from either 3/16" high pressure steel plate or 3/16" 6061-T6 aluminum plate. Steel is preferred where the JK Body Armor will be installed by itself, without Rocker Knockers™ or other rocker panel protection. Aluminum is recommended where Rocker Knockers, the stock Rubicon rocker rails or other rocker panel protection will also be used. The aluminum pieces are much lighter weight (27 lbs. lighter for the 4-door versions), yet still provide excellent load distribution characteristics when used as a secondary barrier in conjunction with external rocker rails. Both steel and aluminum versions may be painted or powdercoated prior to installation, but only the aluminum ones may be installed raw without any protective coating. They may also be polished or clear-coated at the installer's discretion. Both steel and aluminum parts are CNC-laser cut and precision brake-formed for a precise fit to the unique contours of the JK body. Bolt holes are countersunk, and stainless steel flat head cap screws are supplied for a clean, flush-surface installation. Drilling of the body is required for installation.

JK Body Armor is shipped in bare, unfinished metal. You will need to paint or powder coat prior to final installation.

Poison Spyder JK Extreme Duty Trans-Mount Crossmember '07-'11 Poison Spyder JK Extreme Duty Trans-Mount Crossmember '07-'11

Replace your JK's weak stock transmission crossmember with Poison Spyder's Extreme Duty Crossmember! This ultra-beefy crossmember is constructed of two pieces of CNC laser cut, precision brake-formed 3/16" plate steel. Check out the damaged stock crossmember in the photos below. When getting high-centered on the rocks, with the entire 5,000+ pounds of a trail-ready JK resting entirely on the crossmember, it can tend to bend upward in the middle, or as we say, "Taco". The double-wall sides of the Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Crossmember put the extra strength where its needed most to prevent the Taco-effect—in the side walls of the crossmember.
The 3/16" (.188" thick) top plate and bottom plate provide far superior protection against dents and bends than the stock crossmember, which is made of a piece of 1/8" (.125" thick) and 14-gauge (.083" thick) stamped sheetmetal. Incredibly, the Chrysler engineers decided to put the much thinner 14-gauge piece along the bottom, making it crumple at the mere sight of rocks. The steel used in the Poison Spyder crossmember is 33% thicker on the top plate, and 2½ times thicker on the bottom plate. And the 3/16" steel plate of the Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Crossmember has brake-formed corners all the way around—there are no welds on the box corners.
Inside the crossmember, Poison Spyder fabricators have welded in four DOM tubing spacers to provide crush-proof strength at the crossmember mounting bolt locations. These are made of .120" wall DOM tubing. Compare that to the stock crossmember, which uses stamped sheetmetal spacers.

The Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Crossmember matches the external dimensions and bolt locations of the stock crossmember. All stock skid plates that were attached to the stock crossmember attach to the Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Crossmember. Any other manufacturer's aftermarket skid plate system that attached to the stock crossmember should still attach to the Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Crossmember.

The Poison Spyder Extreme Duty Crossmember is shipped as bare steel, ready for you to paint or powder coat in the color of your choice. This part number is for year model 2007-2011 JK's, both 2-door and 4-ddor, with either manual or automatic transmission.

Poison Spyder JK 4-Dr Crusher Corners - OEM Taillights Poison Spyder JK 4-Dr Crusher Corners - OEM Taillights

Poison Spyder Crusher Corners™ for the JK provide ultimate protection for the vulnerable rear corners of your Jeep JK. Crusher Corners™ are full-corner protectors, extending from the rear tailgate, around the side, over the wheel openings and all the way to the door openings. Made of rugged 1/8" steel, JK Crusher Corners™ may be used with the stock JK fender flares or with Poison Spyder's JK Rear Crusher Flares™ for the ultimate combination of rear corner armor.
Poison Spyder JK Crusher Corners™ are unique among aftermarket corner armor, in that they provide full coverage while conforming to the compound curves and subtle contours of the JK body lines. Competitors' full corner protectors are brake-formed from flat steel, and may require the removal of large swaths of the stock sheetmetal in order to install them. Poison Spyder Crusher Corners™ are tool-formed to match the JK body lines in a close-fitting overlay, requiring no cutting of the body except to clearance for the flush-mount LED lights (on LED-ready versions). JK Crusher Corners™ come in a complete kit with stainless steel button head hardware. Drilling is required, as is installation of threaded "nut-serts" (Poison Spyder provides the nut-serts, a simple nut-sert installation tool and detailed instructions). JK Crusher Corners™ are shipped as bare steel.

OE Taillight Compatible:
These Crusher Corners are designed to work with your Jeep JK's original OE taillight housings. The Crusher Corners are cut so that they simple fit around the perimeter of the stock taillights with no trimming needed. Due to the taillight and hinge cutouts on the passenger side, the Crusher Corner does not cover the small area at top-left corner of the passenger side corner, between the top of the taillight and the tailgate. This is not a vulnerable area that is likely to need protection from trail hazards. The stock license plate holder may be retained, leaving the license plate in its original location. However the option to remove it to a different location such as the center of the spare tire is available, as the Crusher Corner is cut out to accept Poison Spyder's JK Taillight Delete Cover (p/n ">17-04-112) in place of the stock license plate holder. There are different Crusher Corners available that are designed to accept flush-mount high-intensity LED Taillights (p/n 18-05-020), LED Taillights and Reverse Lights (p/n 18-05-021, or Blank (p/n 18-05-024)

Made of rugged 1/8" steel, JK Crusher Corners™ may be used with the stock JK fender flares or with Poison Spyder's JK Rear Crusher Flares™ for the ultimate combination of rear corner armor.
IMPORTANT: This product was recently revised, with two significant changes from earlier versions (most of the photos in the gallery below depict the earlier version): The "Spyder" logo is no longer cut out at the front edge of the Crusher Corner; the tailgate hinge cut-outs are slightly larger and not "bumped out", in order to accomodate Poison Spyder's JK Body Mounted Rear Tire Carrier without modifications.

These Crusher Corners are designed to work with high intensity, low-profile, 4" round LED taillights [p/n 41-04-050 (red) or 41-04-051 (clear/red), sold separately] . These LED lights are brighter with less power draw than the OE taillights, and will last longer than the incandescent bulbs. Best of all, they are flush-mounted, barely protruding from the surface of the Crusher Corner, to better survive close encounters with rocks, trees and canyon walls that may knock off the bulky stock taillight housings. These Crusher Corners are also cut to work with 2-1/2" round LED backup lights (p/n 41-04-300, sold separately). These cut-outs are made with a precision 5-axis laser in order to ensure a perfect fit. Note that LED taillights will require the installation of load resistors (p/n 41-04-650, sold separately) to provide the correct load resistance and keep the Jeep's computer from thinking it has a taillight out, causing a faster flash rate. For the easiest installation of LED taillights and backup lights, use Poison Spyder's plug-&-play, all-inclusive JK LED Tail & Reverse Light & Wiring Kit (p/n 41-08-010, sold separately). There are different Crusher Corners available that are designed to accept just the LED Taillights (p/n 18-05-020), or to retain the stock OE taillights (p/n 18-05-022, or Blank (no taillight cut-outs, p/n 18-05-024).

This product ships as bare steel—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item.
Construction
Aluminum JK Crusher Flares™ are constructed using 1.5" X .188" wall annealed aluminum structural tubing as the outer "rub rail". This .188" wall tubing is thicker than the .120" wall tubing used in our steel Crusher Flares, to provide better resistance to crushing, kinking, and bending than competitors' aluminum flares made with .120" wall aluminum tubing. The foundation of the Crusher Flare is a CNC laser cut, 3/16" thick aluminum mounting plate, precision brake-formed to conform to the subtle curves of the JK's body panels. Mounting holes are countersunk for the use of flat-head stainless steel mounting hardware. The top plate is CNC laser cut 1/8" aluminum plate, which is hand formed around the curves of the Crusher Flare for a factory appearance that matches the JK's organic body lines better than any other aftermarket metal flare available.

JK Crusher Flare Inner BraceExclusive Inner Brace Set
Every set of Poison Spyder JK Crusher Flares™ comes with a set of inner braces that tie the Crusher Flare in to the sturdier, heavier-gauge steel of the JK's inner body tub structure. Competitors' JK Flare products simply bolt directly to the outer layer of the JK's body sheetmetal. But as any JK owner knows, the exterior sheetmetal is very thin and flexible. Simply bolting a heavy duty fender directly to the exterior sheetmetal without the inner bracing is a disaster waiting to happen. Regardless of how sturdy the flare is built, upon contact with rocks, trees, etc., it will simply push in and deform the flimsy sheetmetal it is bolted to, possibly causing expensive and unsightly damage. The Inner Brace Set that comes with Poison Spyder Crusher Flares™ effectively bypasses the outer sheetmetal, instead transferring those forces to the much stronger inner structure of the Jeep. That's why we've been able to demonstrate the strength of our flare attachment system by parking another Jeep on top of the Crusher Flare™! These Inner Braces are CNC laser cut, brake-formed for a great fit and simple installation.

Rig Stacking on the JK Crusher Flares!Rubber Liners Included
JK Front Crusher Flares™ come with high quality rubber liners to place between the Crusher Flare and the Jeep's body sheetmetal during installation. The rubber liners provide help protect your Jeep's exterior paint, where the flare contacts it. It also helps even out the contact area of the Crusher Flare, absorbing any small bumps or imperfections between the mated surfaces. The rubber liner also helps keep moisture, dirt and debris from collecting between the Crusher Flare and the Jeep's body. These liners are cut from premium EPDM rubber.

Retain Factory Wheel Wells
When installing Poison Spyder JK Front Crusher Flares™ you have the option of retaining the factory wheel well liner to protect the engine from trail and road debris. Retaining the wheel well also helps to conceal the Inner Braces to complete a clean and finished appearance. Some trimming of the plastic wheel well is required, but the kit comes with hardware and mounting brackets to re-install the trimmed wheel well.

Provisions for LED Marker Lamps
The JK Front Crusher Flare™ kit comes standard with mounting provisions to replace the factory side marker with a high intensity 3/4" round LED marker light. The addition of the LED provides a more modern and refined look that complements the function and style of the Crusher Flare™.

Steel or Aluminum?
Not sure whether to choose steel or aluminum for your Crusher Flares? Aluminum is lighter in weight, so might be the best choice for those looking to save weight on their heavy JK's in order to improve fuel mileage and gain an advantage off-road. However, when wheeling with aluminum flares it is up to the driver to use more care and finesse, as the aluminum components are not going to be able to withstand the same direct impacts that steel can. The outer tube on our aluminum Crusher Flares is beefy .188" wall thickness. Compared to our steel Crusher Flares which use .120" wall DOM steel tubing. The thicker tube wall recoups some of the strength lost by going to aluminum, however the steel versions will still be stronger in a direct impact with the rocks. For reference, a steel JK Front Crusher Flare weighs 31.6 lbs (not including hardware), while an aluminum one weighs only 11.8 lbs. Which is best for you will depend on your particular intended use of the Jeep, driving style and other factors.

Features & Benefits

At Poison Spyder we strive to build superior features into every aspect of each product we make. Every feature has a reason for being included in the design. Here are a list of the most important of these features, along with an explanation of the benefits of each. Consider these important factors when shopping for products, and compare the competition to Poison Spyder's features and benefits!

FeatureBenefit
Best Looking FlareThe Poison Spyder JK Crusher Flare™ is designed to be an aesthetically pleasing match to the curves and bends of the JK's body lines. Compare the appearance of a properly installed Crusher Flare™ to competing flares with straighter tubes, sharper bends, and an overall appearance that just looks out of place on the JK.
Inner Brace KitTransfers impact forces through the Crusher Flare™ to the sturdy inner tube of the Jeep, which is made of much thicker material than the thin sheetmetal exterior skin. Metal JK flares that do not have inner braces just bolt directly to the flimsy exterior sheetmetal, and can dent or crease that sheetmetal if the rigid flare bumps into rocks, trees, etc.
Steel or Aluminum ConstructionCrusher Flares™ are available in either heavy duty steel or light weight aluminum, to suit the needs of a wide variety of Jeep owners and their four-wheeling requirements. Choose steel for heavy duty ruggedness, for use on Jeeps that see a lot of time in the rocks and hard core wheeling. Opt for aluminum when weight savings is an issue, or on Jeeps that will only see mild off-road use with reduced chances of encounters with the rocks.
Standard or Narrow WidthCrusher Flares™ are available in either Standard or Narrow Width. Standard Width approximates the width of the stock plastic flares, for those who want to maintain stock tire coverage to satisfy local laws or protect more against water and mud kicking up from the tires. Narrow Width flares are more suited for dedicated trail rigs where extreme tire clearance and articulation are more important, or where fender width laws are less of a concern. Please check your local regulations to see what fender width rules apply in your area.
3/16" Thick Mount PlateThe mounting plate is CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed for a great fit to the Jeep JK's flare mounting surfaces. This thick material helps spread impact loads over a wide area, reducing potential damage. Mounting holes are countersunk so that flat head hardware may be used for a sleek, flat surface.
1.5" OD, .120" Wall DOM TubingSteel Crusher Flares™ use a 1.5" diameter, .120" wall Drawn-Over-Mandrel (DOM) high strength structural steel tube as the outer "rub rail". Compare this to competing products on the market which use weaker welded seam tubing, which is less resistant to bending and kinking than DOM.
.188" Wall Aluminum TubingAluminum Crusher Flares™ employ a 1.5" diameter, .188" wall annealed aluminum tube as the outer "rub rail". This is the component of the flare that is most likely to come in contact with rocks and other obstacles. The thick wall of the aluminum tubing helps to guard against denting and bending. This tube is formed in an NC bender and securely fixtured during assembly to ensure quality.
3D-CAD Designed Assembly FixturesCrusher Flares™ are built in assembly fixtures that were designed simultaneously with the Crusher Flares™ themselves. The process involves using 3D Computer Aided Design and an actual 3D solid model of the Jeep JK to render the subtle curves and compound surfaces of the JK. The manufacturing process using these fixtures is similar to building the part in-place, right on the Jeep, with fixtures to hold each component securely in place while welding it all together, ensuring against heat warping. The result is the best looking, best fitting, easiest to install, most consistent quality Crusher Flare™ ever produced.
Rubber LinersRubber Liners mount between the Crusher Flare™ and the Jeep's sheetmetal to cushion the area and help keep moisture and debris from lodging between the flare and the Jeep's body.
Wheel Well Mounting ProvisionsHardware, brackets, and instructions are included to aid in trimming and re-installing the plastic factory wheel wells. This helps maintain a finished look while helping to keep water and road debris from splashing up into the engine compartment.

Poison Spyder JK Rear Crusher Flares - Standard Width (Aluminum) Poison Spyder JK Rear Crusher Flares - Standard Width (Aluminum)

JK Rear Crusher Flares are now available in aluminum! (Click Here for the steel version). These aluminum Crusher Flares are light weight—at only 9.6 lbs. per fender—yet durable. Like in the front, the original equipment rear flares are flimsy plastic which can tear off and are easily damaged on the trail. Poison Spyder's Aluminum Rear Crusher Flares™ for JK are precision-fabricated replacements that are light weight and built to handle moderate trail abuse. This product ships as bare aluminum—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item.
The Poison Spyder JK Crusher Flare™ provides tire coverage for up to a 40" tire (minor trimming of the inner sheetmetal may be required for tire clearance). The Crusher Flare's™ mounting plate is made of CNC laser cut 3/16" thick aluminum plate that has been brake-formed to fit the contours of the JK's flare mounting surface like a glove. The Crusher Flare™ rails are CNC-bent 1.5" X .199 wall annealed aluminum structural tubing, with a fender surface made of 1/8" laser-cut aluminum plate. The Crusher Flare™ mounts using stainless steel countersunk flat head cap screws that provide a low profile, great looks and corrosion resistance. Installation requires drilling and installation of the provided nut-sert fasteners. Poison Spyder supplies a simple nut-sert installation tool to facilitate the process. Crusher Flares™ are sold bare, un-coated.

For added structural rigidity, Rear Crusher Flares™ come with a 4-piece Inner Brace Kit. The Inner Braces are engineered to provide the internal structure to keep the Crusher Flares™ from deforming the Jeep's outer tub sheetmetal on impacts. The components are laser-cut and brake-formed to precisely fit between the Jeep's outer sheetmetal and the heavier gauge steel of the structural inner tub. The result is a Crusher Flare™ installation that will withstand serious hits from the rocks. The .188 wall tubing and Inner Braces yield a lightweight aluminum flare that is stronger than any other aluminum flare on the market, and even stronger than steel flares that are not internally braced.

For reference, a steel JK Front Crusher Flare weighs 24.2 lbs (not including hardware), while an aluminum one weighs only 9.6 lbs. Which is best for you will depend on your particular intended use of the Jeep, driving style and other factors. NOTE: Aluminum JK Crusher Flares DO NOT include a laser-etched Spyder logo along the lower edge. That feature is included on steel versions only. Photos in the gallery that depict the laser-etched Spyder are of the steel version of the Crusher Flare.

The JK Rear Crusher Flare™ Kit comes standard with mounting provisions to place a small 3/4" LED marker lamp inside the flare just rearward of the tire. The LED can be wired in to the Jeep's running lights or turn signal circuits. 3/4" amber LED lamps are available separately from Poison Spyder.

Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Rocker Knockers - Frame Mounted Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Rocker Knockers - Frame Mounted

The most vulnerable areas on the body of the Jeep JK are the rocker panels. Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers™ protect your JK's rocker panel area while enabling you to slide over rocks and obstacles. Rocker Knockers™ enhance your Jeep's trail performance while adding rugged off-road looks to your JK. These Frame-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ are identical to our Body-Mounted version, except in how they mount. Which one is best for you will depend on how you intend to use your Jeep!
DOM Tube Construction
The tubular rocker rail is rugged 1.75" X .120 wall DOM structural tubing. The slider rail is fabricated from CNC-bent 1.5" X .120 wall DOM tubing. The space between the Slider and the main tube of the Rocker Knocker™ is filled with a 3/16" thick CNC laser-cut steel base plate for the removable slider skid. The slider and skid mount at an angle to the main tube of the Rocker Knocker™ to provide boatside-like protection from the rocks while keeping the Jeep's doors and body a safe distance from higher level trail hazards.
Removable Slider Skid
The removable slider skid features Poison Spyder's exclusive oval dimples for structural strength as well as great Poison Spyder looks. The Skid attaches with countersunk stainless steel flat head cap screws for a flush surface. The outer skid is made of 1/8" steel and is secured to a 3/16" base plate welded into the slider hoop assembly. The Slider does not rely on the skid for structure. The advantage of having the ability to remove the skid, is to allow you to replace it if it becomes damaged to a level that it has lost its aesthetic appearance or functionality. Also you will be able to customize the Slider's color to match your Jeep's body color, or any color you choose.

Frame-Mounted Outriggers
Frame-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ attach to your Jeep's frame rails through three rugged, precision engineered outriggers on each side. The outriggers are fabricated of CNC laser cut 3/16" thick plate steel, and are designed in a triangular shape to act as their own gusset and provide superior strength. The outrigger wraps around the bottom and side of the frame rail for support on two planes. The outriggers are also located so they may be directly bolted to the sides of the Jeep's body mounts for even more strength. Compare this design to competitors' frame-mounted sliders that use a simple piece of non-triangulated, non-gusseted tubing welded to a plate that attaches to the side of the Jeep's frame rail.

Bolt-On or Weld-On installation
Instructions and hardware are provided for a fairly easy bolt-on installation of the Frame-Mounted Rocker Knockers™. The procedure uses some existing mounting holes on your Jeep's frame, but does require some additional drilling and tapping. We provide the necessary tap to thread the additional holes (tap-handle not included). Alternatively, installers may choose to weld the Rocker Knockers in place. Please note, however, that reaching the nuts on the back-side of the slider plate for installation of the removable skid will be more difficult with the Rocker Knockers already in place. We recommend testing the skid removal process with the Rocker Knockers™ bolted into place, before permanently welding them on.

Suspension & Body Lift Compatibility
Frame-Mounted JK Rocker Knockers™ are not compatible with typical "long arm" suspension kits, without some Do-It-Yourself modifications. The rearward support outrigger will likely interfere with the location of most long-arm kit's link brackets. For those wishing to install this product in conjunction with a long-arm kit, it may be possible to do so by ordering the Rocker Knockers™ with the rearward outrigger NOT welded to the Rocker Knockers™, and then locating and welding them in place during installation. To special-order the kit with the rearward outriggers un-welded, call our sales department at 951-849-5911. Also note that, as a frame-mounted product, any body lift installed on the Jeep will result in a gap of the same height, between the Rocker Knocker and the Jeep's body tub.

Frame-Mounted or Body-Mounted: Which is Right For You?
Choosing between the Frame-Mounted and Body-Mounted versions of Rocker Knockers™ will depend on several factors of your Jeep's configuration and how you use it. We will not claim that either version is more "hard core" than the other, as neither will make your Jeep absolutely bomb-proof and relieve you of the need for careful driving off-road. But here are some factors to consider when making your choice:

Body-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ will move up with the body, if a body lift is installed, while the Frame-Mounted version will stay with the frame, creating a gap if a body lift is present.
Body-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ are 100% compatible with any suspension system, including long-arm kits, without any further modification. The Frame-Mounted version would require some DIY modifications to be installed in conjunction with a long-arm kit.
Frame-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ will generally provide better protection from side impacts, with the solid outriggers that attach them directly to the Jeep's frame rail.
Frame-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ should provide marginally better protection from vertical impacts (such as hard-landing on a rock when coming off a ledge). However, this benefit would be maximized by taking the extra step of welding them in place.
Body-Mounted Rocker Knockers™ will provide better ground clearance and "slide-ability". The outriggers on the Frame-Mounted version necessarily sit lower than the Jeep's body, and therefore lower than the Body-Mounted version. And the outriggers can potentially act as an anchor point since they are perpendicular to the Jeep's direction of forward progress.
The price is the same for either version so take the above factors into account when deciding which one is best for your Jeep.

Don't Forget the JK Body Armor!
Poison Spyder JK Rocker Knockers™ can be utilized as a stand alone component or can be used in conjunction with Poison Spyder's JK Body Armor. JK Body Armor is a secondary line of defense against off road damage to your Jeep, protecting the Jeep by reaching above the slider level up to the door line. Rocker Knockers™ do not mount to or use the Body Armor for additional structure. But they work and look great together as a complete rocker armor package.

Poison Spyder JK 4-Dr Brawler Rockers (Steel) Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Brawler Rockers (Steel)

Jeep JK's, are extremely vulnerable to rocker armor damage on the trail. Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers™ provide the ultimate rocker armor protection while actually enhancing your Jeep's off-road capability—not to mention they look bad-ass!
Brawler Rockers™ are two-piece "mini-boatside" style rocker armor. Each component is fabricated entirely of CNC-laser cut, precision brake-formed 3/16" plate steel. The upper piece fits the lower section of your Jeep's exterior sheetmetal like a glove, conforming to the sublte curvature of the JK and providing protection similar to Poison Spyder's JK Body Armor™. The lower piece incorporates an extremely strong rub rail that protrudes about 3¼" outboard of the Jeep's body tub. The top surface of the rub rail may also serve as an entry step. Below, the brake-formed 3/16" plate steel angles down and inward to form a high clearance boatside for sliding off of rocks and obstacles. Inside, an array of beefy 3/16" thick internal gussets provide ultimate strength to the Brawler Rocker™. Oval lightning holes along the length of the boatside section provide great Poison Spyder looks while allowing access to hose out mud and debris after a day on the trail. The ends of the Brawler Rockers are capped in the same 3/16" plate steel, in angled facets that allow up to a 40" tire and visually integrate with the lines of Poison Spyder front and rear JK Crusher Flares™.
The upper piece attaches to the body tube using supplied stainless steel flat-head cap screws and nut-serts. The lower piece attaches to the upper piece also with stainless steel flat-head cap screws and easy-to-install clip-nuts. All fastener holes are countersunk for a flat surface using the flat-head hardware. Underneath, the lower piece attaches at the Jeep's body mounts. Attaching the Brawler Rockers™ in this way, along several different planes, provides triangulated strength to the entire assembly. The body-mount tie-ins ensure that they are securely integrated to the strongest structural component of the Jeep—the frame—while also allowing the Brawler Rocker™ to hug the body tub as closely as possible. Please note that Brawler Rockers are NOT compatible with body lifts.

Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Brawler Rockers (Aluminum) Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Brawler Rockers (Aluminum)

Due to popular demand, Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers™ for JK are now available in light-weight aluminum. Features and construction are exactly identical to our Heavy Duty STEEL Brawler Rockers™, the only exception being that these are fabricated from 3/16" thick aluminum plate rather than 3/16" steel. Aluminum would be preferred by those who want the bad-ass looks, entry step functionality, and an admittedly reduced measure of rocker armor protection, but with a very significant weight savings compared to the steel versions. For those who will be testing their Jeeps on tougher trails where frequent contact with the rocks is to be expected, we highly recommend opting for the steel versions. While the aluminum is a respectable 3/16" thick, it should not be expected to withstand the same amount of punishment that our steel Brawler Rockers can handle. This product ships as bare aluminum—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item.

Oval lightning holes along the length of the boatside section provide great Poison Spyder looks while allowing access to hose out mud and debris after a day on the trail. The ends of the Brawler Rockers are capped in the same 3/16" plate material, in angled facets that allow up to a 40" tire and visually integrate with the lines of Poison Spyder front and rear JK Crusher Flares™.

Brawler Rockers™ ship bare, allowing you to paint or powdercoat in the color of your choice. Note that if you have previously installed Poison Spyder's JK Body Armor, you will be able to re-use the existing nut-serts, saving a significant amount of installation time (Body Armor will have to be removed).

Poison Spyder JK 4-Dr Brawler Rockers (Aluminum) Poison Spyder JK 4-Dr Brawler Rockers (Aluminum)

Brawler Rockers™ are two-piece "mini-boatside" style rocker armor. Each component is fabricated entirely of CNC-laser cut, precision brake-formed 3/16" plate. The upper piece fits the lower section of your Jeep's exterior sheetmetal like a glove, conforming to the sublte curvature of the JK and providing protection similar to Poison Spyder's JK Body Armor™. The lower piece incorporates a rub rail/step that protrudes about 3¼" outboard of the Jeep's body tub. The top surface of the rub rail may also serve as an entry step. Below, the brake-formed 3/16" plate material angles down and inward to form a high clearance boatside. Inside, an array of beefy 3/16" thick internal gussets provide extra strength to the Brawler Rocker™.
