Dynatrac has a proven name in the axle world, and their ball joints are no exception. Re-buildable in the truck, these joints work just as well out of the box as they do years down the road. When the time comes for a re-build, you can simply replace the wear surfaces in the knuckle without having to remove or re-press in the ball joints. That saves time, but also saves your axle knuckles from damage and wear.
Do you need oversize or regular joints?
Oversize housing ball joints are used on trucks where the ball joint bore in the axle C has been enlarged by repeated ball joint replacements, or replacements with other oversize housing joints like Moog or similar. Standard joints are used on trucks with fresh axle C’s or on trucks that haven’t had many ball joint replacements. Want more information? Watch this video comparing oversize and regular ball joints.
Once you stretch the bore of the C, you cannot go back, so we like to use oversize joints as a last resort. For 99% of trucks, we like to use standard joints, and then this install technique.
