Hands down the nicest second gen track bar on the market, the Thuren track bar fixes the flawed and weak 2nd gen track bar that is so famous for causing sloppy steering and unnecessary vibration and wobble by completely changing the mounting point and bar geometry. Simply put, this is one of the single most important upgrades to improve the handling and steering feel of your 2nd gen Ram, and will stop unwanted flex and play that results from the axle shifting under the truck with the flawed factory design.

Thuren uses a heim joint on the axle side, and a Delrin bushing on the frame side to ensure trouble free use and no play.

 0-4" suspension lift and is designed for a factory pitman arm. This setup can support up to 13" suspension travel, and can allow the suspension to use factory bump travel. SHOULD clear larger diff covers but that has not been tested yet. 


Includes track bar, frame bracket, and all hardware needed. This track bar is fully bolt on, no welding required. 
Fits 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 Ram 2500 / 3500 trucks and SHOULD FIT 1994-2002 Ram 1500 4x4 trucks. 


FITMENT NOTES:

Please note, this track bar doesn't work with the inverted orientation of the factory sway bar that Carli and many other brands require for their 2nd gen sway bar end links for 1994-1998 trucks. Thuren does not offer end links for 94-98 2nd gens but they most be run with longer travel coils. 

This track bar does work on 98.5 and newer trucks running either the Carli/Thuren sway bar end links, or complete replacement Thuren sway bar. On the older 94-97 trucks, you must cut off your factory axle side sway bar mounbts to convert to the 98.5+ axle mounts and sway bar using these weld on DT Pro Fab tabs, or run the DT Pro Fab track 2nd gen bar which is compatible with all year models, sway bars configurations, and generations. 

Some of the later 1999-2002 3500 trucks have a larger diameter Sway Bar, with a more curved shape to it. This bar has a inward "kick" to it, moving it closer to the frame. This style bar will not work with our Track bar Kit. Please email us pictures of your factory 3500 Sway Bar if you are unsure or the clearance needed, or, plan on purchasing our Sway Bar kit. Out of many hundred 1994-2002 Trackbar kits sold, we have only seen this issue pop up a few times. If you have this issue, we recommend a DT Pro Fab track 2nd gen bar which is compatible with all year models, sway bars configurations, and generations. 

If you have the PSC Big Bore SG851 gearbox kit, you will need a M14 x 2.0 x 120mm long and 10.9 rated.

Thuren Trackbar

Needed to do some updates to the front end of my 2001 2500 and I had been looking at several trackbar setups from different companies. Most had reviews identifying issues with clearance on the differential cover, required drilling cross members, etc. This setup does not do that. Just needed to smooth out where the original stud mounted at the frame and chase the tapered end with a hand file to install the upgrade bolt and bracket. Took about 15 minutes longer than installing a new OEM replacement. The preset length put my axle center with a 2" soft ride diesel spring setup from Thuren. Truck handles amazingly well now. I do have the newest version and have no issues with contact at the oem swaybar, links, differential, etc. Also upgraded to the 08.5+ T style steering (OEM) and no contact issues with anything there. Highly recommend this setup and I wish I had installed this year's ago! Hard to imagine I didnt have to deal with the OEM issues for the last +400k miles.

Far better

I replaced a lot all at once, but it’s night and day difference over factory parts. Steering is nice and tight instead of slop steering. Before I had steering wonder and no articulation of the wheels between 11 to 1o’clock. Now, I can steer with no excess input. One finger can steer with this update. Instant articulation of the wheels upon input of the steering wheel. What I installed: PSC PS pump, PSC PS 6bolt Big Bore Box, re-sealed vacuum pump, Borgenson lines, Thuren Track Bar, Synergy “T” Steering (track & drag bars), & Fox 2.0 Stabilizer. Factory ride height. Instructions could be written a bit more clearly by making parts labeled clearer and easier to refer to, but install is simple and straightforward once you get through the wordiness. It took me longer to install due to not easily being able to discern what parts were being mentioned vs having a parts list with pictures that would be more easy to reference to. Grasping to comprehend is what ate up time; it was my first attempt. If I had to do it again, I could do it in a 1/4 of the time. But excellent products though.
